الراتنجات والمواد والبلسمدخان عطري مقدّس، رائحة الراتنج المحروق فوق الجمر. حضوره يمنح العطر بُعداً روحانياً وكثيفاً، يستحضر الكنائس والمعابد ومراسم البخور العربية. يتآلف مع المرّ واللبدان والعود والأخشاب الجافة والورد. يستخدم في القاعدة عادةً لإضفاء عمق راتنجي حادّ وصامت، ويظهر بكثرة في العطور النيش والشرقية. يصلح للمساء والشتاء والمواقف ذات الطابع التأمّلي. شخصيته جدّية ومميّزة لا تخلو من الغموض.
